Beyond Borders Group serves its customers through three brands in three specialized tourism markets: Minds Abroad (educational tourism), Medical Tourism Counselor (medical tourism), and our non-profit arm,  Impact Abroad (volunteer tourism).

These three sectors encompass “serious tourism.” Serious tourism is tourist travel with two purposes. Serious tourists, like tourists in general, seek to enjoy their trip; in addition, these tourists seek to incorporate other activities into their trip, such as medical care, education, or charitable work.

While these sectors provide widely different services (from teaching in a classroom to a surgical operation), Beyond Borders Group companies provide similar services across these fields. Our services include:

-    Rigorous selection of high-quality partners (universities for Minds Abroad, hospitals for Medical Tourism Counselor and volunteer sites for Impact Abroad)

-    White glove customer service

-    Supplemental cultural and tourist activities.


Beyond Borders Group, a New York Corporation whose full name is Beyond Borders International Ltd, was founded in 2004 and has headquarters in the United States (New York), and offices in China (Kunming) and India (Kolkata).

The Beyond Borders Group companies include:

• Minds Abroad (educational tourism) – an operator of study abroad programs.  We target both university students and working professionals primarily from Europe and North America.  Our first program is in Yunnan, China. 
   

• Medical Tourism Counselor (medical tourism) – a medical tourism facilitator that connects patients in need with high-quality, low-cost healthcare providers around the world.  Our focus is on elective procedures not normally covered by health insurance in the United States (for example corrective eye surgery or elective dental surgery).
   

• Impact Abroad (volunteer tourism) – an operator of a non-profit volunteer abroad program that places international students in volunteer projects in developing countries.  Horizons Abroad does not charge any fees from its volunteers.  Our first programs are in Yunnan, China.
